Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning That September Day?

Today marks the 19th anniversary of September 11, 2001. This will be a day I will never forget.

Al-Qaeda, an Islamic terrorist group, hijacked four different planes going to different destinations around the United States.

I was getting ready to walk to the bus stop for school, I was in sixth grade, when images of the first World Trade Center tower emerged on the news. I watched as the second plane crashed into the second tower. It was devastating to watch and I could only imagine how the people of New York City felt as they saw it happen in person.

The third plane hit the western side of the Pentagon causing it to collapse and the fourth plane, believed to be headed towards Washington D.C., passengers fought off the hijackers causing the plane to crash into a field in Pennsylvania.

A total of 2,996 people from 78 different countries died on this day. This includes the 19 terrorists, 343 firefighters, and 60 police officers. Learn more here

Once I got to school everyone had already learned of the devastation happening on the East coast. Instead of school work in all my sixth grade classes we watched the news, teachers spoke of what was happening, and people stayed close to one another as no one knew what was going to happen next or where. As an 11 year old I did not know everything that was going on nor did I understand everything that was going on.

HEY!!! I’m back! I’ve been missing in action because I’ve been moving and trying to figure out life since I’m not employed at the moment.

Since October we’ve been living in Germany! I LOVE IT!! It is our second time here! There are so many opportunities we get while living in Europe.

From FALL to WINTER it has been a dramatic change. We saw leaves change and fall off the trees to SNOW already and it’s only the end of November.

We have been to the Zoo, where we re-created a memory from the last time we were here (see below)! The Zoo here is amazing. The cages are open, which to some is scary, but it’s so fun.

2011             2018

We’ve also been to Christmas Markets, which are HUGE here! The Christmas markets are amazing. I’ve been to several and am excited to get to more! ONE of the many things I enjoy about Christmas markets is the mugs they give out. They are adorable!

Now, about my job situation. It is hard to find a job at the moment. It’s not that I’m not working on it, it’s because there aren’t many jobs where I am, that will allow me to work around the school for the kids.

This also gives me more time to be able to go back to school for my MBA, I’ll get my degree in 2020!!! This gives me a change to get back into my BLOG and into fitness.

Now that I’m back… tell me what more you’d like to see??!?
